Okay, yesterday we attempted to bring a video camera into the tunnels. We padded a cooler with old t-shirts and put ice packs (not ice, but the plastic bricks) between the sides and the shirts. The idea was that we would keep the camera in there to keep it protected and to keep it from overheating. We got footage of entering the grate (which was horrable, it didn't have a spring to assist with opening it, I almost died.... sort of), and some walking along the tunnels for a little while. Then the camea did something that it has never done in the years I have owned it. It ate the tape.... *sigh*. We're not sure if it was because of the heat, humidity, or if it was just bad luck. We salvaged the two and a half minutes of tape that we did have, and will soon have it up for you.

We entered in section "K" and left through section "L". Not a very sucessful trip, and not very long at all, but oh well. We passed the blocked turn off heading noth-west, but did not try to traverse it (looks a bit too tough). Also, a side tunnel that was only about half the normal size which dead ended at a small door was also traversed. A section of this tunnel had about an inch and a half of water in it, but that wasn't too bad. Another part had a disconcertingly loud hissing noise that stayed with you for about thirty feet.

We also tried out two new entry/exit sites. One of them was a street grating that I would place at about 200LBS (No kidding) that totally killed me since I had to close it whilst on a ladder. The other was a one way only (only exiting) grate along the open lawn of the Old Main building. We did a bad thing this time though... we didn't use the breath masks. Bad PSU Underground! We're working on it.... he he :)
